Wil Aballe Art Projects | WAAP is pleased to participate in MATERIAL MEXICO CITY. This year, we will be doing a two-artist presentation featuring MARINA ROY and MAEGAN HILL-CARROLL.
Hill-Carroll is an artist living and working in Vancouver, Canada. She holds an MFA from UCLA and was the 2010 Barbara Spohr Memorial Award winner. Her work and her writing has been disseminated across North America.
Roy has exhibited her work institutionally and internationally since 1992 and her practice includes a wide range of media and books. Roy currently teaches at the University of British Columbia, and is a revered mentor for the young generation of artists in Vancouver.
Since its debut four years ago, Material has revitalized Mexico City’s most important week for contemporary art. The fair’s emphasis on experience – through its intimate scale, sense of community and adventurous programming – has made it a required visit for collectors, curators, artists and the general public.
For this edition, Material will be held at Fronton Mexico, an Art Deco-era sporting arena constructed in 1929 by architects Teodoro Kinhard and Joaquin Capilla.
Please contact the gallery if you would like to preview the works at the fair.
